Dometic seastar power assist PA12002

The dometic seastar power assist pa12002 is a gear pump that is electronically controlled and added to the hydraulic steering circuit between the helm and steering cylinder. The fluid that is circulated by the helm pump enters the power assist and is directed through the gear pump to the steering cylinder(s). The helm serves as the control element for speed and direction, while the p/a serves as the working element that adds power to the steering fluid. The helm pump controls the pump speed, so the faster you turn the wheel, the faster the gear pump will run. When you´re not steering, the p/a is stopped, and it only draws standby power.
